Earth Day Event in Garber Park | Saturday, April 18 from 9am-12pm

  • Garber Park Stewards 901 Alvarado Rd Berkeley, CA, 94705 United States (map)

Visit this 13-acre park and help restore its native wild habitat (we meet year-round). This is an Earth Day volunteer event. Volunteers will remove many non-native and invasive plants and fill a large green waste dumpster provided by the City of Oakland. We will remove larger tree branches, eucalyptus debris, and ivy to lower fire fuels from Garber Park. Join the stewards, grab a rake and rake the main trails, grab a pair of loppers and help cut down fallen branches, and fill bags with eucalyptus debris to help make our park more fire safe!

Wear hiking shoes or sturdy shoes, long sleeves and pants, and bring a water bottle. Gloves, tools, and snacks will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own lunch and enjoy it in the park. For the more adventurous, some activities will require us to go off trail on steeper slopes.

Meet at the Fireplace below the Evergreen Lane entrance. For directions to the Evergreen Lane entrance click here.
