Cal volunteers on Berkeley Project Day after removing over 1,000 broom plants to help native plants thrive. Thank you for a successful event!
Join us at Signpost 29 for a day of restoration (1.5 miles up Claremont from the intersection of Ashby/Tunnel Rd.) every fourth Saturday of the month as we work to restore and maintain pathways, remove invasive broom and collect litter. We will be working on rerouting a section of our main trails to help make the park easier to walk on. We will teach you skills on trail building, step restoration in a wildland park, and cutting back vegetation to open up the main trail.
Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided. You’re welcome to bring lunch and enjoy in the park. Please bring your water bottle and sun protection as it can get hot in this upper part of the canyon.
Wear long sleeves and pants (there is poison oak and ticks in the park but we will stay on the main trails). Use closed-toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, that are sturdy, and comfortable to walk on in uneven terrain.
Questions? Contact us at info@claremontcanyon.org. If you are in need of carpooling to this area of the park, send us an email and we can coordinate with you.
