Our nine baby oaks continue to thrive! We've continued weeding non-native plants from the area where the oaks were planted and we are now starting to see other native plants pop up, such as miner's lettuce. In 2023, Conservancy members planted these young oaks from seedlings, some of which Conservancy member Martha Griswold grew from locally collected acorns. We also had volunteers come out to water the oaks at their early stages of establishment, and thanks to this amazing community effort, the oaks continue to grow. Cheers to the next oaks generation!
