Save the Date—Annual Meeting Sunday, November 12 from 4-6 p.m. at the Claremont Resort and Spa

Dear Friends and Neighbors, please join us at the

Annual Meeting of the

Claremont Canyon Conservancy

Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 4-6 p.m.

Janani Ramachandran, the Oakland District 4 Council Member who represents the Oakland Hills neighborhoods, will be the keynote speaker at the Claremont Conservancy Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 12th at 4:00 p.m. at the Claremont Resort and Spa. She will be accompanied by Joe DeVries, Oakland's Deputy City Administrator; he continues to coordinate the City's work across departments to reduce the risk of wildfire.

The annual meeting will be an opportunity to learn about the revised vegetation management plan and assess whether the plan and its Environmental Impact Report (EIR) merits support.

Janani started on the City Council in January 2023 and hit the ground running after campaigning on the health and safety of her residents, particularly wildfire. She brought her experience as an attorney and advocate to the table, including a visit to Garber Park and securing funding for Tree Services. Joe started working for the City of Oakland more than two decades ago. He’s worked in Neighborhood Services and has established himself as a problem solver who gets things done, including fire prevention work along Grizzly Peak and Skyline.

The Council and Administrator’s Office working with the Oakland Fire Department, will take responsibility for crafting a ballot measure to support an assessment to fund the implementation of the plan; Janani and Joe will make sure that community input is taken into account and look forward to your questions.

The meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend, whether or not they are Conservancy members.
