Wildfire Safety

February Happenings 2026

This month is filled with wonderful surprises. Take a look at the miner’s lettuce we saw growing in Garber Park. Let’s go woodpeckering with Jeff Martin! Join us for a winter woodpecker walk as we learn how to look for them, how to identify them, and observe their unique foraging strategies. Then, on February 19, join the Claremont Resort & Club, in collaboration with the Garber Park Stewards, in a wonderful volunteer event on the Evergreen Lane Path. We will help clean the main steps and trails in Garber Park.

Effective Measures for Ember Resilience

At our 2025 Annual Meeting, our keynote speaker, Berkeley’s Assistant Fire Chief Colin Arnold shared with us how to make our homes and neighborhoods more wildfire safe. He shared a presentation showing the effective measures for Berkeley’s ember resilience which are also of utmost importance to us. If you were unable to attend the annual meeting, you can still view the presentation.
