Remembering Jerry Kent - May you rest in peace. Jerry Kent was a treasure. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the Claremont Canyon Conservancy. He was not only a font of knowledge about the canyon, its history and the wildfire issue, but he was able to share his knowledge with anyone and everyone who wanted to know. We were so fortunate to have him with us for many great years. He will live on in our memories and in our hearts for years to come. Read more about Jerry Kent here.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated Earth Month with us in Claremont Canyon. We had a fun Earth Day event in Garber Park and our nature walks were a success! Thank you to our bird walk leaders who helped us identify over 20 bird species at our Woodpecker Walk and our Spring Bird Walk. RSVP for a fun Woodpecker Walk along the Panoramic Trail. Sunday, March 15 from 8am-12pm (noon). | The Claremont Canyon Conservancy is moving forward with the Safer Canyon Initiative. This month is filled with wonderful surprises. Take a look at the miner’s lettuce we saw growing in Garber Park. Let’s go woodpeckering with Jeff Martin! Join us for a winter woodpecker walk as we learn how to look for them, how to identify them, and observe their unique foraging strategies. Then, on February 19, join the Claremont Resort & Club, in collaboration with the Garber Park Stewards, in a wonderful volunteer event on the Evergreen Lane Path. We will help clean the main steps and trails in Garber Park.
